Combining extruded hexagons and hand modeled forms, I create sculptural vignettes of modern society. The geometric hexagons reminiscent of a bee colony contrast and emphasize the small gestural figures that populate my sculptures. Each figure is unique, inspired by the people I see, a message I want to convey, or a photo which captures an emotion through body language. The placement of figures in relation to one another is intended to represent social interactions and build upon the message of the piece.
